| | Staff challenge raises funds for education

Sturgis Public Schools faculty and staff rose to a challenge from the Sturgis Area Foundation by raising $9,951.50 which will go back to student education. The employees had two options of how to contribute through the foundation. They could chose the Sturgis Public Schools Endowment Fund, which provides mini grants to teachers for specific classroom needs and projects, or the Sturgis SUCCESS Endowment Fund which provides college scholarships.

Sturgis SUCCESS is happy to announce the winning senior home room for the highest percentage of students who applied to college: Mr. Neville's senior home room had 100% participation rate and has won a pizza party. "The week was very successful," said Joseph Robele, Sturgis High School Corps Advisor, "We had 124 applications submitted." On top of the pizza party, Mr. Robele is raffling 6, $10 iTune cards to the students who submitted a college application.
